Great maps

I just discovered a great website. http://www.openbible.info/geo/ they have geocoded all of the locations in the Bible and located them on Google Earth.

You cannot read the Bible without an atlas in your hand, the history does not make sense unless the places are real. The beauty of this site is that you can see the terrain, true with modern building but it gives a tangible image as you read.

The measurement function on Earth makes it easy to measure distances and get a better idea of how far a person traveled.

  1. I have to get a book of Bible maps myself. Just trying to read Acts is difficult without seeing all the places that Paul journeyed to.

Thanks for the reminder and for this link. I’m going to see what I can find on Amazon 🙂

    • Check out Son Light for a good Bible size atlas with and exhaustive index.

If you use e-Sword they have the electronic version which is either free or pretty close to it.
