Ready to go home

In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. (John 14:2-3 NIV)

The view from my Best Western room in Gillette, Wyoming is not the best but it is part of the West – industrial tanks and a long freight train. No tea in the room and I forgot my own stash so having coffee in a styro cup. It is Friday and due to Delta Air schedules I do not get to go home until Saturday. Not complaining but after a long week all I want to do is go home.

Listening to John Denver sing, “Hey it’s good to be back home again.” Tricia hates him but I agree with John, home is the best.

Thinking of home here and how good it is gets me to thinking about my real home. The older I get the less attraction this world holds. I am ready to go home, Jesus promised that he has a place there for me and I know he will have tea with a better view.

Most of my mornings start with a cup of tea with God, we talk over the day and it gives the strength to face the day. When I miss those times I suffer. What I am looking forward to is to have tea with God in heaven. “Amen, come Lord Jesus.”
