Thank you Jim!

Yesterday and this morning I have read most of First and Second Corinthians. It is clear that Christ left us the church (community, gathering) as the organization for learning, worship, care, and impact.

Growth and maturity in following Christ does not happen in a vacuum, it cannot be an independent activity. Only in the presence of other followers of Christ do we effectively learn, worship, care and impact. We need each other.

Discipleship, being far more than an intellectual pursuit, requires a community that gathers together to really be effective. There was a time that I don’t think I really got it, but thanks to my friend Jim Manker I get it now. No matter how large or small your church is, it is the group closest to you that makes the biggest impact on your relationship with God. Thank you Jim!
