Same old Easter, but a new application today

Easter, He is risen! Writers and teachers struggle to find fresh angles to approach the day, yet the wonder of the resurrection is that it needs no embellishment.

God “became flesh and made his dwelling among us.” “Christ died for our sins…, he was buried, he was raised on the third day…”If Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith.”

Then because of all that, “He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sin.”

This Easter morning I need no new angles, I do need, as I do daily need, a fresh reminder of all that Easter means and the wonder of being a part of what God is doing in reconciling and restoring the world. I need a daily reminder that God has forgiven such a one as me, that because of that there is certainty of my own resurrection in the future, that I “shall not perish but have eternal life.”

This Easter morning I need no new angles to remember Christ’s resurrection, what I need is a fresh application of His grace in my life, a daily resurrection from the darkness of this world into the kingdom of light and hope.
